By Deborah As a young nurse at a Rehab School that Maureen attended, she changed my world the day I met her. We were close in age and after a few laughs, pranks on each other, and some special heart to hearts, we became close friends. There is no way that anyone with a half a minute and some curiosity and interest would not want to "find out who she is". We laugh a lot. We have experienced many of the same young lady issues. We love the same music. I have continued my journey in the world of nursing specializing in Developmental Disabilities and without doubt, I am certain she invited me in, and taught me more than any book or classroom lecture could. Maureen clearly and openly speaks from the soul of a young lady with a body that doesn't always move in the way she would like, and in that story- she moves us. As a composer of music and an author of books, she opens up her world to others. And in all so many ways, she reminds us that everyone has a story- but not everyone tells it. We are blessed that she does. When people meet other children or young adults with athetoid CP, I hope they think of Maureen and know there are no limits or barriers when you put your brilliant mind into gear and push forward in life. This would be a great book for parents of newly diagnosed babies with athetoid CP. She shares HOPE and dreams and puts her all into anything she begins.
