I am proud of the young men and women of today who have put their lives on hold this great country of ours. Many have returned, others not so fortunate. If you find yourself on any of these pages, and know that all have experienced the same things...the fear of not coming home alive, fighting for survival and watching as our friends fell around us. Hold no animosities, they will destroy you. Keep your emotions in check. Never the forget the sacrifice. This story would be remarkable no matter who it happened to. That it happened to me makes it special

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. It was a damn good book By Duke Ellis This is an amazing book written by a man that was actually there. He lived through the Hell that was Viet Nam to bring us these tales of a time and place that no man came out of unscathed. His views as a SF soldier are unique to the stories that only he could tell. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It is a MUST READ!

Mr. Egan comes from an amazing family and is a great man himself. I found it an interesting story about a young man who entered the service ( the Navy ) at age 17. After completion of his service in the Navy, the author enlisted into the Army - and the Special Forces. Service in the Special Forces brought him into some very interesting places in Vietnam - places where many soldiers did not return from.
