My mother remained anchored to her philosophy of life, and never deviating from her standards. I was born in the fifties also in Italy. I grew up aware of the fast changing of the world around me, always in the search of new values and new things for a better way of life. These differences took us apart for most of our lives. However, both my mother and I ultimately wanted from each other the same thing – to be accepted for the persons we were. Will we ever achieve our inner desire?

Italian heritage By Sandra long Having also been raised in a big Italian family I can relate to much of life living in poverty...although not as bad as the writer's...I rated this book as a 5 because to be able to have lived through it and become the woman she is today took much determination...There are times ,I'm sure many of us especially coming from a big family,have felt less love than some of our siblings ..

Biagi I truly enjoyed reading this book..I enjoy reading books about other people's lives, how they've overcome their struggles and roadblocks in life. How people become the way they are and why. This story is full of Lina's life experiences, successes and is also a love story. Thank you for sharing your story with others....loved this book !!

I am looking forward to reading more from this author, very well written, I couldn't put the book down! I will definatly recomend to my friends and family.
