A fascinating window into a different time By Amazon Customer This book is about my Uncle and as such I'm certainly biased, but I think any history buff will appreciate this window into a different time. First generation children of Greek immigrants born in Depression era Boston, my Uncle becomes a police officer while several of his brothers are involved in organized crime...the book itself could use some polish but the story inside it would make a fascinating movie.

The truths of the story come alive with actual old photos. I loved reading about this amazing man and the twisted life he had growing up. Has all the makings of a true detective, crime movie!

By Rick Grant Diane Shaw uses her father's stories to take us back to a Boston that, frankly, I'm amazed anyone survived. Of course, many didn't, including some of the characters in these stories. A good read, well worth the time.
