2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Beautiful vulgarity. By Anonymous If Tucker Max had a soul, he still wouldn't compare to this Zalaski guy. Written with passages of brilliance interwoven with sincere vulgarity, this is the most dichotomy I've ever seen in a "human" character with a real voice. Addiction and "action" aren't just a lifestyle choice for this guy, it's sincerely the only way he can cope with the world around him. Part sociopath, part seriously insecure individual, Bernie delivers laughs and cringe-worthy stories of often-times twisted, filthy behavior. Not for the light of heart. If you're a fan of Hunter Thompson and Bukowski, you will really like Bernhardt Zalaski.

The amount of sex and massive drug use is insurmountable.It's reminiscent of World War Z; each story is captivating, but you tire a little of the style. However just as you're tiring of the style, you get caught up in the next story. This one is not for the faint of heart, the delicate, nor the easily offended, but if you are bold, daring, and curious, it is surely entertaining.

Not Bukowski By Laura Wallace This book is well written but it seems that the writer is trying to be Bukowski and or Hunter S Thompson.Interesting at first with tales of debauchery in wine country it goes on and on with hundreds of pages of the same thing. Sex , drugs, misadventures ( of the depressing kind). It's too much of the same thing , and honestly difficult to care about the main charachter . After a while this book seems like work to get to the end .
