By Meks In life they say for every action there is a reaction...and I guess with all things: consequences..whether good or bad. But when Justine meets Lucas nothing is foreseen because love just has a way of making people blind to a lot of things. And when consequences breathe life to revenge, will love prevail?It took me some time to finish this read. With my mind being preoccupied with other things maybe I didn't give it a chance in the beginning but I'm glad I stuck with it. Even though it took long for me to get into this read it was really good. It had all the things I enjoy; suspense and drama all wrapped up in urban contemporary. Its not your typically urban read and I like that. It was a good 'cop' book. It didn't lack a good storyline but I wished there was a little more details in some of the scenes. The ending was very suspenseful and really had me getting all into the book; left me wanting more.

As a woman, I would NEVER EVER forgive a "friend that slept with my man! Let alone chill with her and call her a friend. I would NEVER! EVER allow that slut to continuously throw her washed up twat at my supposed fiancée! I would have already stumped her shady butt. I was really confused as to why holly and Justine would remain friends with Simone after she slept with Justine's college sweetheart. In a way Justine brought this on herself . she knew that Simone was trifling and couldn't be trusted , so I don't know why she was shocked to learn that Simone hated Her guts. I didn't care for the ending, I really don't understand why the author chosed to kill Justine off. I actually was getting annoyed with Justine and her lack of backbone. Then she plays on the tricks phone like a little high school kid. This book was just--- ugh!

Although I loved how the relationship between Lucas and Simone started and I was really rooting for them, Justine started to get on my nerves. First of all, I don't even understand why Simone was still in their circle period and then when it was obvious she was digging Lucas, why Justine. Didn't handle that from the gate, especially with their history. I liked Holly, she was a real friend and she spoke exactly what I was thinking.. The ending was a total shocker. After reading the prelude in the beginning of the book, I was expecting something totally different. All in all this was a good read and I'm looking forward to the next installment even though after this ending I assume its going to a whole other story line..we'll see!
