About the Author Anna Dubrovsky has lived in more than a dozen cities on three continents and has explored countless others. She has wandered through the Louvre in Paris and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia, where she was born; she has cycled the western coast of Ireland, hang-glided over Rio, motorcycled up a mountain in the Dominican Republic, scuba-dived in Costa Rica, and camped along the Appalachian Trail; she has marveled at the Taj Mahal, prayed at the Western Wall, and danced in Havana. Yet she still keeps coming back to Pennsylvania.Anna first set foot in the Keystone State when her 7th-grade class ventured from Cleveland to Philadelphia, belting Whitney Houston ballads all the way. Her family relocated to Pittsburgh a couple of years later, and Anna’s first driver’s license was a Pennsylvania one. After her sophomore year at Northwestern University, she returned to Pennsylvania for a reporting internship at The Morning Call of Allentown, where she covered The Great Allentown Fair from the perspective of a sheep. She interned at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette after her junior year and worked as a statehouse reporter for the York Daily Record after graduating. In 1999 she left the newspaper and Pennsylvania for New York City, where she covered City Hall for an online news service. After stints as a financial reporter in New Jersey and Los Angeles and as a student of yoga in India, Anna followed her heart back to Pittsburgh, bought a house and a membership to the world-class Carnegie Museums, and began a career as a freelance writer and yoga teacher. Finally, she has an answer to a question that has always stumped her: Where are you from?”

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A small trip to southern PA. By wogan This is a small, 126 page guide to the tourist areas of southern Pennsylvania It does not cover Philadelphia or its suburbs. There is information for; Lancaster County, Reading, Hershey, Harrisburg and their immediate vicinities, York county, Gettysburg and vicinity. There is no index which is a definite minus and the facts for Gettysburg are cursory at best. If you want a more in depth information for that area you must look elsewhere. For the Amish attractions in Lancaster and the surrounding areas known as the Pennsylvania Dutch country this is very thorough and for the rest of the areas covered it will definitely give you the information you need to go there. Many of the attractions covered are the shopping areas and factory tours, but that is what many want to see and spend time at. If your interest is in historical minutia, again you need another type of guide. The print is small but readable for most and there are some black and white photos. Maps will give you an idea of where you are going and where sites are in relation to each other. There are good descriptions of the places of interest, events, accommodations and places to eat, included are hours, cost, phone numbers and web sites. It's a small specific guide that is actually quite good in most of its coverage.
