About the Author Marilyn Schwartz is an 84 year-old woman who has lived a wonderful life. Twice married with four grown children, she lives in Connecticut and Florida. A child of the Bronx, she was stricken by polio at the age of 18, married at 19, and on her way to a life full of advanced degrees and a commitment to Jewish studies.

By annette herman Marilyn....you're an incredible woman....smart, talented, tough and as gentle as a lamb. I can hear Sadie hysterically laughing her self sick, just recalling the story of your impression of what life is all about (or should be)...I can still remember when your water broke in my house announcing Daniel's imminent presence and you in Erwin's shorts!!!!! of What fun filled..happy go lucky days and evenings we all spent together (and what I wouldn't give to have them back again!!!)Marilyn, you were always a very special person in my life and I always smile when I think about the fact that Erwin and I played hide and go seek when we were six years old but I always knew he was going to finally fall in love with someone especially "special" and have four of the most incredible kids...you did a good job, kiddo!!!My love and a hearty Mazel Tov to you for such a phenomenal way you managed your life in spite of all the pitstops along the way!! xoxo Annette

I have had great admiration and affection for her By Mary Jane Schaefer I have known Marilyn for years and, even before I read this book, I have had great admiration and affection for her.This book, though, has now given me the young Marilyn, middle-aged Marilyn still going strong, and glimpses of how she became the wise,brilliant, and sweet person she is now. She is an living advertisement for how much Life can be worth living,if you don't let its downsides get you down. Nothing can get Marilyn down! If she fell into a pit of mud, she'dmake mud pies and say, "We didn't have mud like this when I was a kid, so I'll do this now!" But this isn't justan inspirational story. This is a very funny, laugh-out-loud story. It captures her voice, her wonderful, cheerful, wry voice.Just a great read. May it make her rich. It's made me rich, reading it.
