Karachi, Pakistan is where the story begins and Kernersville, North Carolina is where it ends. The reader travels through time and lives the environment the author grew up in. How his thought process was shaped by his upbringing and schooling. The first part of the book recounts lighthearted memories of growing up while attending Catholic Schools run by Nuns and Public Schools administered by the Army. After attending an American sponsored Missionary College he moved to the United States. Always interested in politics this is where he found himself, right in the middle of the great American divide. The political wars started on day two in college at the University of Maryland in College Park. One roommate was a bleeding heart liberal, the other one a perfect stereotype of a hard hat muscle! Both trying to influence the authors ideological mindset and trying to make this newcomer a proper American. This mental tug of war continues down the road as the author traverses through the savage jungle of the media pundits. Right wing nut or left wing looney? After going a complete cycle the author finally takes a stand and this is where he plans to stay. Read all about it!

About the Author Rameez Khan was born and raised in Pakistan. He was an army brat and had the good fortune to live in all the major cities and attend the best schools. He fondly remembers his minor to young adulthood days at Catholic run schools and at Gordon College, an American based Missionary institution in Rawalpindi. He moved to the United States in 1968. Having dealt with religious fanatics and communists he was always interested in politics. It was not long before he got enmeshed in the middle of American Cultural and Ideological battles. Here the book turns to a more serious note and we see how the author deals with issues like war and racism and political bigotry in this great nation that he dearly loves.

The auther's journey from his privelaged upbringing in Pakistan to being a student in Maryland and becoming a left wing nut job to a "Pakistani red neck" in North Carolina and eventually moderating his politics as he ages is fascinating.
