About the Author James A. McQuiston, FSAScot, has been writing about his family history, and that of Celtic families in general, for many years. He has authored several articles for Highlander magazine, and for the newsletter of the Scotch-Irish Society of the United States of America. He currently publishes the e-magazine Celtic Guide, with help from dozens of writers and photographers around the world. Mr. McQuiston has been accepted as a Fellow with the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. This group was established in 1780, and has close ties with the National Museums of Scotland. McQuiston is considered a bona fide Scottish historian by this Society and thus is allowed to add the FSAScot suffix to his name as an indicator that he is a recognized scholar in the study of Scotland and Scottish family histories. While researching his own family, McQuiston realized how closely the Denny family was connected to his, and uncovered a vast treasure of previously unassociated information which he presents in this comprehensive book, Ebenezer Denny: First Mayor Of Pittsburgh. The writing of this book coincidentally dovetailed with the planning of the 200th anniversary celebration of the founding of Pittsburgh, and the election of its first mayor, in 1816.
