Richard Anderson is perhaps best-known in recent years for his roles as the Narrator, Captain Stiles, in the television series Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (1993-1997) with David Carradine and Chris Potter, as well as his role as Buck Fallmont in Dynasty (1986-1987). Finally, the full story of his life and incredible career are revealed in his sensational autobiography. From humble beginnings as a young actor to his first contract with MGM, Richard’s first big impressions on moviegoers were as Chief Quinn in Forbidden Planet (1956) with Walter Pidgeon and Anne Francis and as Tom McAffee in The Buster Keaton Story (1957) starring Donald O’Connor. In the early years of what we now call Classic TV, his dozens of appearances were in such memorable series as Zorro (1958-1959), The Untouchables (1960), Thriller with Boris Karloff (1960), The Rifleman (1960-1963), The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1964), many appearances on Perry Mason (1966), The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1966), and Mission Impossible (1967), to name but a few. 

Richard eventually became one of the most familiar faces on television in his role as Oscar Goldman in The Six Million Dollar Man (1974-1978) and The Bionic Woman (1976-1978). I will always have a soft spot for "Oscar Goldman" :)A few nice tidbits are included about classic movie stars including William Holden and Cary Grant for those who love old Hollywood!

Byers A great read from a versatile and charismatic actor; not a smarmy tell all but an honest look at life in the studio system and beyond. Richard Anderson may owe much to his discovery by Cary Grant and Betsy Blake, but it's his ability to veer from hero to sidekick to villain that have made him such an icon. If you want to read an interesting conversation about an actor's life and his experiences, this is the book for you.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Enjoyable Reading By Liscio I enjoyed this book far more than I expected, since I don't usually read biographies. But the Anderson book surprised me. Maybe it was Anderson's quick, vignette-style of imparting memories; I enjoyed that sort of brief look into things. And I was intrigued that Richard began running into actors at so early an age; it was as if he were destined to be an actor himself. And wow, SO many famous people! Not just famous, but acting "greats". The book never dragged; it moved along quickly. This may be due to the expertise of Al Doshna (co-writer), who has done many celebrity interviews.I also liked looking into how movie studios like MGM were run, and television programming too. I found Anderson's remark about "not being happy with the current state of today's films" revealing, and I concur. I laughed out loud at Anderson's remark about "Kitten With A Whip" being spoofed by Mystery Science Theater 3000; my son and I love MST3K! Going to have to download "Kitten" soon.The book's pictures were fantastic. I found myself turning the pages in hopes that the next page would hold yet another great photo.And finally, I found I really liked Richard Anderson. Already admiring him as an actor, I ended up my reading by feeling close to him. You know, feeling that I was glad that he's here on the planet: a talented, intelligent, humor-loving and compassionate guy. Considering my cynical view of people, that's saying a lot.
