What she offers through her background, sharing her journey and experience of deep personal loss will help readers find their footing when going through their own grief. I am grateful to have "Singing Beyond Sorrow" as a resource and have ordered extra copies to share when they are most needed.

By Annie What a brilliant, brave and transparent journey this author takes its readers on, through a time of deep personal loss and transition. The subject of grief is one that is mostly ignored by our society at large, and perhaps this book can gently open a more inclusive conversation about death and the wake that it leaves behind in the still living. That wake is made so real, so obvious and so human by the polished journal type format of this book that chronicles the year after the death of her husband. So often we want grief to be complete so much faster than it possibly could be. We don’t want to mourn for “too long”; to be a burden to our friends and community for “too long” or be the person that is just hard to be around because we are not “over it yet”. This book shows a full year of the ups, downs and flat days of someone who is brave enough to bare her Soul for us to see into her grief and to perhaps help give us the compassion we, and our fellow humans deserve. Her words make It obvious that she and her husband had a great love story and it’s obvious that they loved their little boy very much, and she shows us how that love is sustaining even after such an unexpected end to how they all thought their lives would unfold.For me this book reminded me again of how precious life is, and how fragile. It reminded me that all of us make future plans when we have no idea if we will be here to carry them out. It reminded me that the day I am in, today, is what I have and to do something I enjoy with it, preferably with people I love. Life is finite and beautiful and tragic. The author’s shared journey reminds me to live now and to be gentle with myself as I do just that.

Beautiful, raw, and a wonderful reminder of finding gratitude in any situation By Rebecca Brooks Beautifully and poignantly written, Carole exposes the very personal and raw, uncensored emotions of someone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. Her writing and story will resonate with anyone; whether you have been through loss yourself, seeking how to offer support to someone who has experienced a loss, or if you need a reminder to fill your life with gratitude. Her courage and grace reminds people that grieving comes in many shapes and forms and that we should not shy away from it, but rather embrace it in all its' different forms. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
