Wonderfully open personal account By Christina Ortega Whether you want to personally compare your life's experience or just know of someone else's accounts, this memoir has a glimpse of openness for all. Mrs. McGrue has a well oriented description of personal truth that will provide strength to the needing or guidance for the skeptical. I would highly recommend this book for any who have had or are having marital, relationship or aggressive friend issues. The retrospect personally may get you in the right direction or even become a hand up in help forany who are willing to open up the pages to see one persons dash from the harnesses of control. Read and applauded by us as husband and wife with a desire to let all know it was a beautiful read.

Inspirational and extremely powerful By maria martinez This book offers the reader an opportunity to view a troubled relationship from the inside out. Subtle biases influence our judgement everyday, and the notion that women do not need to be treated with respect or equality has been passed from one generation to the next, affecting the beliefs of men and women alike. This book speaks volumes about how this bias affected the author's judgement in allowing such treatment to continue, and how her partner failed to recognize his own faults. So many women have similar stories and are unsure about how they can change their lives, but this story proves you can find strength within. Many thanks to the author for this honest and open account of her life and how she made a conscious effort to change it.

He needed to find a way to help the children sleep. He had an interest in the way people communicate due to having Asperger's and wanting to learn the skills to fit in with others. So he applied what he had learnt about how people communicate unconsciously and turned his knowledge into this approach.

Since that time Dan has taught the approach to children's home staff, family support workers and social workers, and to hundreds of parents, as well as applying the approach himself with children of all ages.

My problem is that my toddler is an avid reader, and it's hard to《yawn》keep her from reading along! I need a way to induce her to lie down and close her eyes, so she'll get the full effect of the well-paced, carefully repetitive text《yawn》and slip off to dreamland instead of putting me to sleep as she reads《Zzzzzzz》.

A rendere il romanzo tanto scabroso è l'impietoso e satirico ritratto della Russia stalinista che l'autore fa emergere attraverso le caratterizzazioni dei numerosi personaggi che prendono parte alla storia: individui meschini e gretti, la cui infima statura morale viene svelata dall'arrivo, inatteso e incredibile, di Satana in persona, incarnato nell'esperto di magia nera Woland, e del suo losco e bizzarro entourage. Woland, Korov'ev/Fagotto, Azazello, Hella e il gatto Behemoth sono gli insoliti e rivoluzionari giustizieri che con la loro venuta creano scompiglio nell'immobile Mosca degli anni Trenta, ma rendono anche possibile il ricongiungimento tra il Maestro, scrittore perseguitato e internato in manicomio, e la sua amante, la bellissima Margherita. Un aspetto originale nella struttura del romanzo è l'andamento quasi in parallelo di due storie: la storia nella Mosca contemporanea e la storia nella Gerusalemme al tempo di Gesù, dove si consuma il rapporto - molto poco 'ortodosso' - fra Pilato e lo stesso Gesù/Yeshua. Eugenio Montale definì il romanzo "un miracolo che ognuno deve salutare con commozione", mentre Veniamin Kaverin scrisse "per originalità sarà difficile trovare un'opera che gli stia a pari in tutta la letteratura mondiale". Quasi diciannove ore d'ascolto di una storia appassionante, fantastica, divertente, grottesca e ironica, ma anche severa e tragica, per certi versi persino strampalata, che parla al cervello e all'anima in un linguaggio che stupisce per immediatezza e virtuosismo.

Brave Old World By Ken Moe Griffiths demonstrates a reporter's keen power of observation and a poet's skill with language in this collection of memories of rural Iowa farm life in the middle of the last century. His words resurrect a way of life lost in this century. For all its gritty reality, the world Griffiths recounts from his own childhood experience is richer and more humane than today's era of cost-efficient agribusiness, particularly regarding treatment of animals. BATTING ROCKS OVER THE BARN is much more than a nostalgic look at Midwestern rural life and farming practices in the 1950s, though it is both of these. This is an honest book about the nobility of life in direct contact with the environment, about learning from the land, about community solidarity, and about family faithfulness. It is especially worthwhile for those of us who grew up in big cities.

By Doris Gazda A wonderful description of farm life told through the eyes of a growing boy. Oh, the things he did are too numerous to mention here but if you read this book you will learn literally everything about farm life. The story is told with a light touch and is fun to read. This would be a great book for young people to read, especially those who know nothing but city life. They will learn about the hard work and long hours of farming told through the eyes of a fun-loving kid. Highly recommended!!!

We worked together as reporters for an Iowa newspaper.Although I worked in Iowa for nearly 20 years, I really had relatively little contact with agriculture. I covered cops and courts, politics and education but rarely farming unless a crime occurred on a farm or a farmer ran for elected office. The closest I came to writing about agriculture is when Deere & Co. released their annual financial report or announced workforce changes.So reading Lawn's "Batting Rocks Over The Barn" was really somewhat of an education for me. I had no idea many farm buildings were portable or that surcingles were contraptions used on dairy cows. Not only did I learn something about Iowa farms, I was able to reconnect with the genuine people of Iowa through this book. They are good people and Lawn has done an excellent job of capturing them in his prose.So for a bit of an education on agriculture or just a bit of entertainment and relaxation, give this book a try. You won't regret it.

É um jogo organizado por bilionários devassos com gostos meio suspeitos, uma competição carnal com membros de uma família misturada, mãe e filha e pai e filho, na qual nenhum dos pais adotou "legalmente" o filho um do outro. Eles eram a família perfeita... mas será que seus laços sobreviverão a este jogo proibido?
