By Lourdes This book is wonderful because the stories are well narrated and it is helpful in building up vocabulary. Obviously, you need to have a certain level in comprehension in reading and understanding Italian. This book is not for beginners, unless you want to keep your Italian-English dictionary by your side and look for the meaning of words every so minutes.

It was not too difficult to read--but, kept my Italian-English handy.2. The stories were interesting. I like mysteries--I like to solve the mystery before the story does. By Jen I picked this book up because a client of mine (I work in the health and fitness field) was just diagnosed with this, and I needed to learn more about it. She had been gaining weight (which was the reason she came to me) but had also been having some muscle weakness (amongst some other symptoms) and didn’t know why. The doctor diagnosed her with Hashimoto’s. Obviously, I need to know about it in order to work with her and make sure the things I do with her are not contraindicated for this disease.This book really opened my eyes! I learned not only what Hashimoto’s was all about, but that it is also confused with other conditions (which is helpful to know). The book did a great job talking about the symptoms of this disease, as well as the (similar) symptoms that occur with conditions that are commonly confused with Hashimoto’s. It also does a good job at explaining the outcomes of the disease, and that a lot of holistic practitioners are pretty well-versed to treat this disease (which might be something I could suggest to my client).The most helpful thing to read, to me, at least, was the section on eating right and losing weight. I know that my client has struggled with this for a while now, and let’s face it: when you want to lose weight and nothing’s happening, it’s really frustrating. I now know that I should not only be working with her on exercises, but also talking with her about her eating habits, and helping her with that. Focusing on the foods with the vitamins in it that she needs the most. A very helpful and eye-opening book for anyone trying to figure this disease out, either for themselves, or to help someone they know!

David If you get diagnosed with Hashimoto's, or if you know someone who does, or if you feel like you are experiencing its symptoms and you want to learn more about it, I would suggest for you to read this book. It will give you helpful information about its symptoms and causes, as well as, the treatments for it. (But of course before doing the treatments, it always best to consult a doctor.) What I liked about this book is that, it is written in a very encouraging and positive manner, saying that there are ways for you to overcome this disease and even if you have it, you should not allow it to stop you from living your life. Get inspired in beating Hashimoto’s thyroiditis by reading this book.

Its sometimes good to read about for self awareness disease or illness book, even thought I don't have one, even a friend. The book is full of awareness about the Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, from introduction, down to causes and symptoms as well as the treatments. Guess I have to discipline myself in eating right and losing weight and change my lifestyle for the betterment of my body. Thanks to this book. Its not all about giving information about the certain sickness, but its also an eye opener for us in living our life to the fullest.

Gøtzsche documents that psychiatric drugs kill more than half a million people every year among those aged 65 and above in the United States and Europe. This makes psychiatric drugs the third leading cause of death, after heart disease and cancer. Gøtzsche explains that we could reduce our current usage of psychotropic drugs by 98% and at the same time improve patients' mental and physical health and survival. It can be difficult, however, to come off the drugs, as many people become dependent on them. As the withdrawal symptoms can be severe, long-lasting and even dangerous, slow tapering is usually necessary. In his book, Gøtzsche debunks the many myths that leading psychiatrists - very often on drug industry payroll - have created and nurtured over decades in order to conceal the fact that biological psychiatry has generally been a failure. Biological psychiatry sees drugs as the "solution" for virtually all problems, in marked contrast to the patients' views. The attitude of my "silverback" colleagues is well described.The solution about what to do with psychiatric illnesses is simplistic.

A Good Village Cozy By Ralph Vaughan "A Necessary End" is a competent little village cozy featuring the perspicacious DCI Webb solving the murder of Nancy Pendrick, the second wife of a man who lost his first wife under odd circumstances, and who step-family seems more interested in her independent wealth than her. There's also the matter of her own elusive ex-husband, who worked unknown in the Pendrick family hotel, until he was sacked just before her death, and has now taken off for parts unknown, after being the last person to see her alive. Then there are various friends and colleagues, none of whom shed a tear at her demise. As Webb works his way through all the witnesses and suspects, he collects enough red herrings to stock a fish store, and every one of his informants seems a candidate for president of the Liars Club. Much of the pleasure I derived from this novel was in watching Webb navigate the swirling currents of perfidy and prevarication in a dogged search for Nancy Pendrick's murder, but I am very much a fan of the classic British mystery, and this book is fully ensconced in that genre. While the ending was a bit rushed and too tangential to the main line of the investigation (the reason I've given four stars rather than five) it is still a very entertaining and satisfying read.

Marvelous Plot By Ina As always this writer has put forth an intriguing plot with the storyline populated by an envious list of characters who carry secrets and low derring do to the surprising ending. There is no dearth of suspect characters, even a number whose lives and predicaments evoke sympathy in the reader. Good pace and outstanding character development. Though I neither like nor admire the egotistical protagonist Detective David Webb , Hannah James, his partner in romance is one nifty lady.

As DCI Webb and his team unravel the mystery, there are a lot of rocks to look under. They disentangle the dysfunctional relationships and connections to arrive a surprising conclusion.Great writing and great mystery.
