The producers of these phenomena have been exposed efficiently and often, but their supporters are as active as ever, and show a simple faith which is more convincing than any argument. Moreover, the producers themselves - mediums, clairvoyants, water-diviners, seers, or whatever they may be - are sometimes of such apparent honesty and simplicity that disbelief seems almost a sacrilege; therefore part of my aim is to show how a man believing firmly in his own honesty may yet practice elaborate trickery and deceit.As the book is intended for readers presumably unacquainted with the trend of modern psychology, it is necessary to point out how much of the opinions set forth are accepted by workers at the subject.The theory of dissociation has, as far as I know, no opponents. About the Author

He was a driving force in bringing awareness of early music (and instruments) io its proper place in the long history of music. He was a gifted performer and sensitive teacher affecting the lives of those who had the good fortune to work with him.

In talking with new acquaintance, they often tell me that they would like to travel to a region in France. But, outside of Paris where they have already visited, are there interesting regions? The answer is “of course.” Where? This book is a start to answer just that question. Many of you know, I do enjoy cycling in France. When I am checking out a route for a new guidebook, I stop often to huff and puff if climbing, to check out a direction change for a route map, to take a drink, and always to take a picture. Over the years you and many other friends and acquaintances have asked me for something with just the photos of my travels in France, and a little about where I have been. This book is a start to address those questions. People are also interesred what Department (close to a State in the United States) or area I have been in. These Departments/areas are Burgundy, Dordogne, Lot and Tarn, Provence, Bordeaux & Pyrénées, and Cathar Country (Languedoc). Although I initially traveled to France (two-year Mediterranean deployment with the US Navy) in 1961, the following images date from 2004. From that trip through my 2014 adventure, I have taken more than six thousand photos in France. For my eight guidebooks, I included more than seventeen hundred of these photos in the text and maps. For this compilation, I selected 168 photos that got my attention. Some of these images needed an explanation. These images and comments are organized geographically.

The English Cotswolds are a chain of undulating, limestone foothills that encompass a quiet, idyllic world of sleepy little towns and villages nestled among the hills and dales. Rising to just over 1,000 feet at the highest point on Cleeve Hill, the Cotswolds are spread across a half-dozen West Midland counties, including Gloucestershire, Avon, Wiltshire, Hereford and Worcester and Oxfordshire. For more than 90 miles, from Meon Hill just six miles south of Stratford-Upon-Avon, they stretch westward across the heart of England all the way to the great Roman city Bath.

For more than 1,000 years these pastoral, rolling hills have been home to farmers and shepherds and... well, to me. Please allow me to introduce you to my Cotswolds. Yes, we'll visit all the well-known and not-to-be-missed spots along the way, but I'll take you to places off the beaten path - places that very few visitors to the Cotswolds ever get to visit. Chipping Campden, Broadway, Stanton, Stanway, Snowshill, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Naunton, Northleach, Chedworth, The Slaughters, Buckland, Winchcombe, Burford, Cirencester and Bath are just some of the towns we'll visit. Off the beaten path we'll visit the Duntisbournes villages, the tiny hamlet of Ford, the village of Bibury, and many more. There's an air of timelessness among these ancient hills, honey-colored towns, villages, and cottages.

A Personal Travelogue That Captivates By Sassy Lou This little guide book is full of quirky gems and insights giving an intimate picture of the author's own Cotswolds. Included are childhood memories and facts on local folklore and even breeds of sheep as well as over one hundred photographs of what has got to be one of the most beautiful areas in England. Added to this is an extremely useful visitor's guide on where to stay, eat and drink. If you're planning to cross the pond to come to the Cotswold then you'll find this guide a must read.

Author is well traveled in the Cotswolds, and I was able to get a clear vision of how I want to arrange my trip. Color pictures would be a great addition to this book.

The author describes some of the parts of the area that may not be so busy, names his favorite places to eat, sleep and drink and almost gives you the feeling he is having a conversation with you. He grew up in this area and gives just enough detail to get you interested without overdoing it. Diana
